Our Specialist Service
What is Women’s Health Physio?
Women’s health physiotherapy is a specialised service that is dedicated to supporting women through every stage of life—from before pregnancy and postpartum recovery to menopause and beyond.
At Box End Physio, we focus on restoring function, confidence and quality of life, by treating a variety of conditions including pelvic floor dysfunction, urinary incontinence, bowel problems, pelvic organ prolapse, and pregnancy-related pain. Whether you’re looking to manage pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy, return safely to exercise after childbirth, improve pelvic floor strength and function, or manage chronic pelvic pain, our specialist women’s health physio can help you. We aim to provide a calm, confidential and supportive environment where patients feel listened to and are comfortable discussing personal concerns that may sometimes be difficult to talk about.

What To Expect
Your First Appointment
We endeavour to provide a safe, comfortable and private environment for you to discuss your specific bladder, bowel and sexual health issues with your physiotherapist. An initial consultation is 60 minutes long, in which we take a comprehensive history of your condition, general health, lifestyle and any past medical history, as well as identifying how it affects you and your life. We may then carry out a detailed physical examination if it is deemed clinically appropriate (this may include an internal examination) to help diagnose the cause of your problems. With this, we can create a personalised management plan, including exercise, lifestyle modification, bladder and bowel retraining, and self management strategies.
